On Saturday they delivered, coming back from a 2-1 deficit to beat Charlestown City 3-2 at Lilse Carr Oval.
‘‘We spoke this week about not being satisfied with a close loss or draw,’’ Pascoe said.
‘‘The boys have the ability to do something in this league and they need to have that mentality.
‘‘I could not have been happier with them. We controlled the majority of the game and deserved to win.’’
Michael Finlayson put the Jets ahead in the 20th minute.
Charlestown hit back 10 minutes later when striker Scott Smith capitalised on a mistake and was left one on one with the keeper to tie it up at the break.
Virtually from the restart the Blues took the lead through Jarrad Ross.
The homes side attacked down the left and then delivered a cross which the Jets failed to handle.
The lead was quickly cancelled out thanks to stunning freekick from Nick Cowburn from 30 metres.
From there the Jets assumed control and sealed the three points with 10 minutes remaining when Radovan Pavicevic finished off a well worked team goal.
The game threatened to boilover in the finals stages, resulting in bit of push and shove, before order was restored.
In Sunday’s games, Hamilton host Lambton, Rosebud travel to Lake Macquarie and Magic welcome South Cardiff.
The Magic-Gunners game will start an hour earlier, at 1.45pm, to avoid a clash withthe A-League grand final.
