Matt Kerr, the equally fashionable if not instantly familiar brother of supermodel Miranda Kerr, will open a restaurant in honour of the family’s matriarch.

The opening of Nanna Kerr’s Kitchen on Thursday night at Lovedale has sparked rumours the Victoria’s Secret lingerie model could make an appearance.
The family has, after all, rallied around the young restaurateur and his partner James Wright to make their dream a reality.
“My mum’s here at the moment picking up last-minute things to make it look like nanna Kerr’s house did,” Matt said.
The siblings’ grandmother Ann Kerr has been a proud advocate for her grandchildren and has even shared Miranda’s spotlight in the UK press on occasion.
Nanna Kerr’s actual kitchen and Gunnedah home made world news when it burnt down in 2011, but Matt aims to rekindle some fond memories.
“Her place was destroyed,” he said.
“We’ve tried to incorporate the oil paintings and candelabras [ in the restaurant], it’s a little different, but the feeling is there.”
The menu will also capture that wholesome upbringing.
The potpies are expected to be a highlight.
“Miranda’s favourite was the beef and mine was the chicken,” Matt said.
The chef is none other than Matt’s hospitality mentor of six years, Chanelle Kawana.
Matt started his hospitality career under her as a 16-year-old, in the footsteps of his parents John and Therese, who owned a Stetson’s Steakhouse.
“I think it’s time to step up and do something for myself,” he said.
“I’ve wanted to dedicate something to my loving mum and nan.”
James recently quit his job as a consultant to help make the restaurant dream come true.
The renovations have come down to the wire, with the couple and their family up late on Wednesday night working on the finishing touches.
Will Miranda make an appearance Thursday night?
“Unfortunately not,” Matt said.
“She’s got a lot of work going on at the moment, but she’s wished us the best with it.
“We’ve had a lot of support from family.”
The restaurant will also sell Miranda’s Kora Organics skin care range, alongside mum Therese Kerr’s Divine organic personal hygiene range.
“It’s all part of the Kerr empire,” Matt said.
