But he’s chosen the phrase “once in a lifetime” to describe his epic trek across Papua New Guinea for the Mark Hughes Foundation.
After roughing it in the South African wilderness, the former rugby league star will tackle the Kokoda Track in June and won’t stop there.
The 284-kilometre “coast to coast” challenge will continue from the peaks of Buna to humidity-soaked Port Moresby in the south.
On the journey will be Harragon and fellow Knights players Billy Peden and Mark Hughes.
“It all started on Christmas Day when the great man Billy Peden rings up and says ‘I want to do something for Hughesy, I want to do it great’,” Harragon said.
“In typical Billy form, he wanted to make it a physical, hard challenge.
“Next minute, we’re doing this thing.”
Peden said they wanted to raise $50,000 for the brain cancer foundation and expected the challenge to be “magic” with Hughes on board.
“The cause is something that’s very close to us personally,” he said.
“But not only to us, there’s a lot of people within the region who have been touched by what Mark has.”
