PARTS of the Hunter have been warned to brace for storms on Tuesday.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued the warning at 11am, including the Hunter but noting most of the storm would skew south.
Gosford, Sydney, Penrith, Parramatta, Campbelltown and Katoomba are expected to receive the brunt.
A separate detailed warning has been issued for Sydney, where storms were already moving slowly over Canterbury and Fairfield towards the coast.
Reports from the state capital indicate some areas received 48mm of rain in an hour.
“Heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and damaging winds are likely,” the Bureau warns.
An update on the warning including the Hunter is due at 2.05pm.
