Emergency services were called about 12.14pm on Tuesday to reports of smoke coming from one of the school buildings.
Nine fire and rescue crews were sent to the scene of the fire, which is believed to have started in a dust extractor. Firies used breathing apparatus to enter the premises and managed to extinguish the blaze.
Students were kept on the school’s oval until it was safe to return to class. Police and paramedics were also on scene as a precaution.
There was also a major fire at the school in 2004. The fire began in the central part of the school, now known as A block, and included the administration section of the building.
The fire largely destroyed the two-storey building, comprising 15 classrooms, staffroom and a performance room.
