The 2018 Hunter Valley Steamfest is set to roll into Maitland this weekend, with thousands again expected to flock to the Lower Hunter to see the array of vehicles on display from yesteryear.

The 2017 event saw more than 50,000 attend over the Saturday and Sunday.
This year will again field a similarly diverse program of activities and attractions.
Among the main attractions will be an array of eye-catching heritage steam locomotives, as well as diesel engines, which will be ferrying passengers on trips around the Hunter Valley.
The Rally Ground will again be a hive of activity, with a huge range of steam-era technology on show. New to the 2018 event will be live track welding demonstrations by the Australian Rail and Track Corporation between 11am and 1pm each day.
And Sunday will see the annual Show and Shine of more than 400 classic and retro cars at Maitland Park.
