MEMBER for Lake Macquarie, Greg Piper, has hailed the newly opened marina at Trinity Point as "first class".

The marina is a key element of Johnson Property Group's $388-million project at Morisset Park.
The Trinity Point project will also include a 65-room Pullman hotel, day spa, gym, restaurant, function centre and 250 luxury apartments.
"I have to say, everything out here is first class," Mr Piper said at the marina opening recently.
Johnson Property Group managing director, Keith Johnson, first began planning Trinity Point in 1999.
"It's been a long and challenging journey but worth it," Mr Johnson said.
His vision has been to deliver a luxury resort destination and residential lakeside development to Lake Macquarie.
International marina builder, Bellingham Marine, constructed the marina.
"It was critical we did the marina right," he said.
"It was a major key to what we aimed to achieve. It had to be something special."
Stage 1 of the marina features 88 berths, from 10 metres to 18 metres. A further 100 berths are planned for Stage 2.
Mr Johnson said the marina was a showcase of modern marina construction and environmental responsibility.

Bellingham Marine president John Spragg said design and technology had been harnessed to create a user-friendly marina at Trinity Point.
"From an operational standpoint, boater experience is paramount," Mr Spragg said.
"Give boaters a stress-free, enjoyable experience and your berths will quickly fill. Trinity's purpose designed wave attenuator is a big piece of that. It ensures a safe, tranquil harbour in all weather."
Sweeping lines, placid waters, terracotta coloured Unifloat concrete docks, stunning lights and architectural details set Trinity Point apart, he said.
Other key features of the marina include a fuel dock with high-speed fuel dispensers; docks provisioned with service units and CCTV security; sewer pump-outs; and a deep water basin with minimum depths of 3 metres.
"To be a high performing marina, you need more than aesthetics," Mr Spragg said.
"Marina layout, ease of access from the entrance to individual berths, ample power, and amenities on the docks are the things that will put Trinity Point Marina on top."
Mr Johnson said Trinity Point had also made a strong stance for environmental responsibility.
Concrete docks featuring rust-free fibre reinforced polymer rods, light-filtering decking on gangways and approach piers, a well flushing basin and on-going monitoring of water quality highlighted the development team's commitment to caring for the lake as a natural resource, he said.
