The former Knights and Australian rugby league player and rugby commentator will speak at the sold-out luncheon event at Merewether Surfhouse.
The 48-year-old is billed as being a participating speakers who will help businesses become "bigger and better" and impart knowledge on "how to build a sustainable business that performs long-term and not just for a season."
The event is being staged by Hunter company See Business Solutions, a business coaching and consulting organisation which specialises in the construction industry.
Jay Bolton, founder of the event organiser and local business coaching and building consulting company See Business Solutions, said Johns would be talking about his move from player to commentator and offering advice to help those in the building industry.
"A lot of hard work, education and diversification has helped with his transition and Matthew will be sharing his journey, the sacrifices and challenges during his career to date and offer some tips to help the building industry do the same," Mr Bolton said.
"Like football, the building industry presents challenges and can be quite difficult, however surrounding yourself with good people, access to the right information and adjusting accordingly to the economy and market demands in order to set yourself up to build a sustainable business long-term is key."
