BRIGHT SPARKS Rising Central Coast indie-folk act Little Quirks are heading on tour to support their new EP Cover My Eyes, released on Friday. The four-piece of teenage sisters Abbey and Mia Toole and their cousins Jaymi and Alex Toole have drawn rave reviews for their energetic performances, mixing the folk of the Mumford & Sons with the indie-rock of The Cranberries.

The EP tour kicks off this weekend at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, but you can catch Little Quirks closer to home at the Cambridge Hotel on March 15.
LOUD US alternative metal legends Helmet will have the Cambridge Hotel head banging on May 6 when they perform for their 30th anniversary. Fans will get a mammoth 30-song set covering their multiple incarnations. Helmet last performed here in 2011 at the Newcastle Leagues Club. Helmet reached their critical peak in the early '90s and were major influences on the nu-metal scene led by bands like Korn and Linkin Park.
HIGH ENERGY The Cessnock Performing Arts Centre will kick-off their 2020 program on February 7 with afrobeat, reggae, funk and afro jazz-fusion band Bakoomba. The party-starters are led by charismatic Senegalese frontman Fode Mane. Bakoomba have performed at Sydney's Vivid Festival and at The Basement and supported international artists Maxi Priest (UK) and Katchafire (NZ).
NO BREAK Anybody that's seen Lachy Doley live know he's one of the most engaging keyboardists in Australia. This week Doley released his new single No Key Left Unbroken. To celebrate the Lachy Doley Group is hitting the road and will be stopping at Lizotte's on March 20.
