A person has died following a single-vehicle crash and car fire in the Hunter region on Sunday.

At about 6.40pm, emergency services were called to the Golden Highway near Lemington Drive, Jerry Plains, after reports of a car on fire.
Police believe the car was travelling west along the Golden Highway when it left the roadway and crashed into trees, catching on fire.
The fire was extinguished by NSW Rural Fire Service and a body was located inside the car.
The person is yet to be formally identified.
Officers from Hunter Valley Police District established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
