Hunter small businesses welcome economic lifeline and government enforced shutdown

LAST HURRAH: With the government putting a stop to any large gatherings, Newcastle Beer Festival was cancelled for 2020. In its place Mini Fest was held at the Happy Wombat on Saturday. Due to restrictions relating to social distancing, capacity was capped at 82 people.

FIRST came the economic lifeline, then news of a comprehensive shutdown of everything deemed non-essential, including pubs, restaurants, cafes and bars.
