The drive-through COVID-19 testing clinic at Cessnock District Hospital has been extended to June 22 as Hunter New England Health review the demand for further extensions toward the end of the week, Cessnock MP Clayton Barr said Tuesday.

The clinic was due to close on May 26 but has been extended for a second time, operation from 8am to 6pm weekdays and 8am to 4.30pm weekends.
Mr Barr encouraged anyone with flu-like symptoms to call ahead and book a testing appointment.
The clinic can be reached for appointments on 4991 0436.
"With more and more restrictions easing over the coming weeks and months it's great news that the testing facility has been extended with the possibly for further extensions," Mr Barr said.
The clinic conducted more than 1,733 tests between May 20 and June 14, 804 of which were between May 20 and May 31 and 929 between June 1 and June 14.
No confirmed cases of the coronavirus have emerged.
"With the changes to restrictions it is incredibly important for all community members to be following health advice, having a test if you have symptoms even mild ones, washing hands regularly and practicing social distancing" Mr Barr said.
"For all communities the best way to move forward and manage the pandemic is to have information and the information gathered through testing is invaluable.=
