The Sydney Morning Herald reported that Orkopoulos, who did not appear in Waverley Local Court for a brief mention on Wednesday, intended to plead not guilty to breaching parole conditions, including contacting a relative, using an internet-enabled phone and setting up an account on Instagram.
The disgraced former Labor MP was granted parole in December last year after more than 11 years in jail for 30 child sex, drug and child abuse offences.

He was arrested in January for allegedly breaching parole conditions and was in Silverwater jail when Lake Macquarie detectives slapped him with 15 historical child abuse charges.
Orkopoulos is due to face Newcastle Local Court on August 20 over the fresh child abuse charges, where police allege he sexually and indecently assaulted two boys known to him on separate occasions in the 1990s.
He faces 15 charges, including aggravated indecent assault of a person under 16 years of age, committing an act of indecency with a person under 16 years, aggravated sexual assault and causing a child aged under 14 to participate in child prostitution.
