Four months after their last event, Newcastle District Golf Association (NDGA) are preparing to return in 2020 with two regular favourites and a representative trip.

NDGA secretary Rod Carruthers confirmed the annual District Championships would follow on from B and C grade pennants while a six-man Newcastle team would also head to Bathurst for the NSW Country titles.
"There's been a lot of interest after such a big break," he said. "It's good to at least put a couple of these events on."
Newcastle beat Merewether in the A-grade final on March 15 just prior to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Oc Colley Cup qualifier restarts proceedings at Charlestown (B-grade) and Merewether (C-grade) on August 2 with the seven-round seasons opening on September 13.
District Championships are down for mid-November across Muree (A-grade) and Toronto (B, C grades).
The NSW Country Championships take place on October 31 and November 1.
Carruthers said the NDGA order of merit had now officially been abandoned with only limited events, including the Karuah Cup, completed earlier this year.
* WARATAH will hold the third and final round of their club championships this Saturday with Hamish Ellison and Andrew Cairney the joint leaders in A-grade at four over (146).
Ellison shot a second straight 73 in round two on the weekend to level with Cairney, who went three over (74) following a plus-one 72 for the opening 18 holes.
Clayton Small (147), who was the first-round frontrunner with a two-under 69 earlier this month, and Nathan Lambert (150) make up the top group.
* HUNTER River District Golf Association have unveiled a host of rescheduled opens for 2020 starting with Muswellbrook on August 30.
The new-look fixture list also included The Vintage (September 1), Stroud (September 13), Paterson (September 20), Denman (September 27), Maitland (October 3), Aberdeen (November 1), Dungog (November 8), Scone (November 15) and Kurri Kurri (November 22).
* NEXT year's NSW Amateur Championships, men's and women's tournaments, will be held at Central Coast courses Kooindah Waters and Magenta Shores from January 25 to 29.
