Wests remain hopeful of playing out the rest of this season but have withdrawn junior teams from all rugby league fixtures this weekend amid the latest coronavirus cases confirmed in the Newcastle region.

The Rosellas committee made the announcement after meeting on Thursday night.
"We have made the difficult decision tonight to withdraw from all fixtures this weekend [round 3]," Wests released in a statement.
"We know this is extremely disappointing for our players, but with the size of our club we absolutely have an obligation to not just our members but the community at large.
"We hope to have a clearer understanding of our players health by early next week and hopefully we can return to the competition."
Wests officials explained that around 25 players attend high school St Pius X, Adamstown, which was shut down earlier this week after one student returned a positive COVID-19 test.
There are now three confirmed cases from the same family cluster. Hamilton high school St Francis Xavier's has since been closed while more than a half-a-dozen Newcastle venues, including McDonald Jones Stadium, were identified by Hunter New England Health.
The Rosellas said some of their players are close contacts of the first case and are now required to self isolate for 14 days.
"While we are yet to have any diagnosed COVID-19 cases within our club, we do not want to take the risk for our members, the game or our community by continuing to train or play until we have some concrete answers on local virus transmission rates and our potential exposures," Wests released in a statement.
Wests said that "we are not pulling out of the season". Training has also been suspended. The situation will be reviewed on Monday.
The Rosellas field junior teams in Newcastle (under-6 to under-12) and Hunter Valley (under-13 to under-18) competitions.
Furthermore, Muswellbrook and Kotara have withdrawn teams from Hunter Valley (under-13 to under-18) competitions this weekend.
Central under 8s forfeited to Nelson Bay because of concerns with recent COVID-19 cases in the Port Stephens area.
In the senior rugby league ranks, University has pulled out of Saturday encounters with Northern Lakes (men's tackle) and Stroud (ladies league tag) in Newcastle Hunter Community competitions.
