Newcastle fullback Kalyn Ponga was back to his brilliant best and Jacob Saifiti was a colossus as the Knights stormed back to form with a 40 point demolition of the Wests Tigers at McDonald Jones Stadium.

Needing a win to get back on track after two straight defeats, the Knights could hardly have been more impressive in their 44-4 win.
With new signing Blake Green slotting into a playmaking role effortlessly beside Mitch Pearce, it opened the door for Ponga to unleash his devastating running game which terrorised the Tigers defence all night.
He scored two tries and had a hand in a couple of others in his best performance of the season.
Up front, Saifiti was enormous, as was his frontrow partner David Klemmer but the Knights didn't have a bad player.
The Tigers were diabolical in the opening 40 minutes and the Knights made them pay scoring four first half tries to lead 24-4 at the break.
Green didn't take long to make an impact, finding Ponga with an inside pass for the fullback to cross under the posts for 6-0 advantage after 10 minutes.
It was 12-0 just four minutes later with Ponga involved again in a try to winger Hymel Hunt.
Climbing high for a Green bomb, Ponga knocked the ball back with Mitch Barnett coming up with a remarkable left handed behind-the-back flick pass to his centre Gehamat Shibasaki before Hunt crossed.
The Tigers ball control was abysmal and Ponga landed a penalty goal from close range to make it 14-0 inside 16 minutes.
The joy for the Knights continued with rookie winger Starford To'a crashing over in the corner after Pearce, Green and Ponga combined on the left. Ponga's conversion failed but it was 18-0.
The Tigers got lucky to finally get on the board four minutes from halftime with backrower Luciano Leilua touching down after a Benji Marshall grubber rococheted favourably.
But right on halftime, Jacob Saifiti burst onto a pass close to the Tigers line and was awarded a try by the video referee despite the hint of a double movement.
The 20 point advantage became a 30 point lead to the Knights inside the opening seven minutes of the second half with Herman Ese'ese bouncing out of a couple of tackles to score before Ponga grabbed his second after burning Luke Brooks on the outside in a 25 metre run to the line.
Shibasaki got on the scoresheet for the Knights midway through the second half as the score blew out to 38-4.
Replacement hooker Phoenix Crossland scored his first NRL try to give the Knights a 44-4 lead with 10 minutes to go.
