A man has suffered serious injuries in a motorcross event at Cessnock.

The 37-year-old was flown to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle on Sunday afternoon with suspected spinal and internal injuries after falling off his motorcycle at the Cessnock event.
The man was treated at the scene by emergency services before being flown to Newcastle by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
The man was in a stable condition.

Meanwhile, a man seriously injured after being struck by a falling tree has been flown to a Newcastle hospital for further treatment.
The 23-year-old man was felling trees at a property in the Moonbi Ranges at about 3pm on Saturday when he was struck by the falling tree.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter initially airlifted the young man to Tamworth hospital, but later on Saturday night the chopper was called to transfer the 23-year-old to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.
He was in a serious but stable condition.
The man sustained serious injuries - including fractures - to his upper body, chest and face after being struck by the falling tree.
