Bradford has spent the majority of her career, which includes playing for New England in the national university sevens series, in the backs but shifts to blindside breakaway on Saturday to cover for Annika Jamieson.
Jamieson, who played Super W with the Rebels last season, injured her shoulder in the breakthrough 17-12 win over Sydney University (2) last round.
"Emma is in at six and will add a lot to the pack," Clay said. "She has come to the dark side and is loving it. We needed someone with a bit of speed to get to the rucks and disrupt their play, be a bit of a menace."
Clay said the Wildfires had taken a lot of confidence out of the win over the Students and were primed to show the Hunter faithful what they were capable of doing.
"Newcastle has always been looked as the country mice," Clay said. "To get a win over a Sydney team is a massive deal. To do it in only our third game, it shows how far we have come in such a short time.
"You have to trust in the process. We held our nerve and our finishes, our reserves, came on and lifted everyone."
The Wildfires three tries against Sydney Uni were scored out wide, however Clay said they will take Gordon on up the middle before spinning the ball to the edges.
"We have been a little lost in our attacking shape previously," she said. "People were a bit scared to put their hand up and want the ball. Now we have the process down pat a little more, everyone wants the ball. We might rumble up the middle a little bit and then shoot it out wide."
