Hunter earned this weekend off after beating Sydney University 2 in the major semi and are due for an October 17 meeting with the winner of Saturday's preliminary final between the Students and Campbelltown.
Wildfires coach Brooke Saunders said they find themselves in the ideal position following a "positive" display en route to their 29-19 victory at No.2 Sportsground on Saturday.
"We'have a game review [Tuesday] and one contact session [Wednesday] before enjoying the weekend off and watching the other clubs play. Then we will pick our team for the grand final and hopefully get a win," Saunders told the Newcastle Herald.
The former Wallaroos representative said the Wildfires would begin their focus on "missed opportunities" from their latest 10-point triumph before turning their attention to a new "game plan" depending on who they are coming up against.
Saunders was confident her players came through unscathed in terms of injuries so she won't be forced to make any changes.
The mentor was impressed with the performances of five-eighth Sian Filipo, prop Maryann Utai and substitutes Candice Clay and Darcy Gillett.
Hunter finished sixth on the competition ladder at the end of the regular season last month. In the main Jack Scott Cup play-offs Randwick are due to tackle Warringah on Saturday with Sydney Uni 1 already through to the title showdown.
