South Newcastle skate park excavations slump in rain and swell but council says all good

From this week's solid swell hitting excavated sand, through to the old skate park, and some prim and proper Edwardian Novocastrians, secretly wishing they'd brought their skateboards.

THIS week's storm swells had not affected the skate park construction at South Newcastle Beach, despite high tide waves reaching a wall of excavated sand in front of the existing promenade, City of Newcastle said yesterday.
