The American piano maestro was due to launch A Day On The Green's new Cellar Door Series at the Pokolbin winery, with support from Australian indie-folk artist Gordi.
The intimate Cellar Door Series was created as a COVID-safe option and was supposed to mark Bimbadgen's long-awaited return to live music following the coronavirus pandemic.
But after parts of the Hunter received up to 150mm of rain on Thursday and similar downpours were predicted for Friday and Saturday, organisers Roundhouse Entertainment chose to reschedule Folds' concert for May 8.
"Roundhouse Entertainment regret to advise that following on from the dangerous weather warning issued from the Bureau of Meteorology and the continued threat of severe and high-risk weather in the region over the weekend, tomorrow's Cellar Door Series concert event with Ben Folds at Bimbadgen, Hunter Valley has been rescheduled to Saturday, May 8 2021," they said in a statement.
"While disappointing to reschedule Saturday's event, the safety and care of patrons, staff and artists attending and performing at tomorrow's event is our top priority and thank fans for their understanding."
Purchased tickets will be valid for the rescheduled show without the need to exchange. Patrons unable to attend the new date can obtain a full refund from their point of purchase.
