Tara Pender expected back but Zoe Horgan out for Warners Bay in 2021 Herald Women's Premier League

Horgan has been cleared of any breaks but was awaiting a final diagnosis on the extent of the injury. She joined Warners Bay midway through last season and has been a consistent performer for the Panthers this year.

Pender has been out for the past two matches with an ankle complaint of her own but is expected to play in what is shaping as an important fixture for both teams at Cooks Square Park on Saturday.

Warners Bay are third with 19 points and Maitland fourth on 15.

Fifth-placed Adamstown (13) play sixth-placed Charlestown (12) on Sunday in a match that could also have a bearing on fourth place.

**Bronte Peel appears to be made of tough stuff. Peel joined Maitland from the Emerging Jets program this year and has scored four goals to be the Magpies' equal leading scorer. But the forward has missed the past two matches as she recovers from a possible broken ankle she did not know she had.

"It potentially looks like it's been around for about six to eight months," Magpies coach Keelan Hamilton told the Newcastle Herald. "She had been saying it was a bit sore and had an MRI and there is a little fracture there, but it's already healing. They're also checking it's not an infection."
