Back of the net: All-female officiating crew to create NNSW NPL history

Jacewicz will head the first all-female crew to officiate a NSW NPL first grade game when Maitland host Olympic as part of NNSW's Female Football Week.

Jacewicz, 35, created history in January 2020 when she took charge of Melbourne City's 2-0 victory over Newcastle.

** Olympic fullback Tom Davies didn't get the chance to play his 100^th first grade game for the club against arch rivals Broadmeadow Magic due to a wash out.

Instead he will notch the ton against Maitland, the club he spent two seasons at before returning to Olympic.

"It's not a derby but playing your previous club is the next best thing," Olympic coach Joel Griffiths said. " He will be ready for it."

Griffiths is unlikely to risk his brother Ryan against the Magpies.

"Ryan feels good but I might leave it an extra week with him," Griffiths said. "Hamstring injuries can go again pretty quickly."

Captain Rhys Cooper is still recovering from a fractured cheekbone and is still a few weeks away.

"We are relatively light on troops but the boys are getting though it," Griffiths said.

** The Olympic-Magic derby will now be held on Wednesday June 30 at Darling St Oval. The other washed-out match on Sunday between Edgeworth and Lanton will be played on Saturday July 24 at Jack McLaughlan Oval.

** A minute's silence was observed before the clash between Charlestown and Adamstown on Sunday in honour of Mick Williams, who died suddenly last week. An electrifying winger, Williams played for the Newcastle Breakers, Azzurri, Edgeworth and Manly during a highly successful career.
