It follows the redistribution of some of the hub's Pfizer doses to Sydney.
The Belmont hub will begin offering the AstraZeneca vaccine from August 10, but bookings will open on Wednesday, August 4, via the Eligibility Checker.
A Hunter New England Health spokesperson said the AstraZeneca vaccine was currently available to anyone 18 years and over, however "informed consent" needed to be provided.
"This means understanding the risks and benefits of vaccination using the latest information and advice from the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) and the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA)," she said.
"If you have any concerns about receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine or if you're not sure if it's right for you, we suggest speaking to your GP before booking an appointment at the Belmont hub."
