NSW recorded eight deaths and 1220 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.

There are currently 1151 cases admitted to hospital, with 192 people in intensive care, 75 of whom require ventilation.
The deaths recorded to 8pm were:
- A woman in her 70s from western NSW at Dubbo Hospital which was announced yesterday.
- A man in his 90s from south east Sydney died at St George Hospital.
- A man in his 50s from Nepean Blue Mountains died at Nepean Hospital.
- A man in his 90s from south western Sydney died at Campbelltown Hospital. He was a resident of Advantage Aged Care Facility at Prestons Lodge and acquired his infection there.
- A woman in her 70s from western Sydney died at Nepean Hospital.
- A man in his 70s from south west Sydney died at Liverpool Hospital.
- A man in his 80s from Western Sydney died at Westmead Hospital.
- A man in his 60s from Nepean Blue Mountains died at home.
There have been 139 COVID-19 related deaths in NSW since the start of this outbreak in June, and 195 in total since the start of the pandemic.
There have been 30,456 locally acquired cases reported since June 16, 2021, when the first case in this outbreak was reported.
Two new cases were acquired overseas in the 24 hours to 8pm.
The cases were spread across a wide rang of local health districts (LHD):
- 422 are from Western Sydney Local Health District
- 392 are from South Western Sydney LHD,
- 128 are from Sydney LHD,
- 89 are from South Eastern Sydney LHD,
- 74 are from Nepean Blue Mountains LHD,
- 27 are from Western NSW LHD,
- 22 are from Central Coast LHD,
- 20 are from Northern Sydney LHD,
- 14 are from Illawarra Shoalhaven LHD,
- seven are from Hunter New England LHD,
- four are from Far West LHD,
- two are from Southern NSW LHD,
- seven are in correctional settings, and
- 12 cases are yet to be assigned to an LHD.

NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro said there were 18 cases in Dubbo, three in Bourke, one in Orange, three in Narromine, one in Walgett, two in Wilcannia and two in Broken Hill.
Fourteen cases were in the Illawarra, 11 cases were in the Wollongong LGA and three in the Shellharbour LGA. The Hunter Valley saw seven new cases; two in Port Stephens, two in Lake Macquarie, and one in Maitland, one in Newcastle, and one case in the Mid Coast LGA.
"In southern NSW, these were the two cases that we mentioned yesterday, one in Batemans Bay and one in Cooma," Mr Barilaro said.
"The Central Coast has seen a spike of 22 cases and we're calling out on that community to be vigilant, to get tested."
NSW Health administered 28,812 COVID-19 vaccines in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, including 8031 at the vaccination centre at Sydney Olympic Park.
The total number of vaccines administered in NSW is now 7,587,842, with 2,858,114 doses administered by NSW Health to 8pm last night and 4,729,728 administered by the GP network and other providers to 11:59pm on Sunday September 5, 2021.
There were 100,745 COVID-19 tests reported to 8pm, compared with the previous day's total of 136,455.
