For fans of superhero movies in the last decade or so, "The Chrises" would be a familiar concept.

It refers to a group of actors who all play comic book heroes in various Marvel or DC movies, and who all happen to have the same first name - Chris Pine, Chris Evans, Chris Pratt and of course, Australia's very own Chris Hemsworth.
And while the debate rages on about who is the "best Chris", it's pretty hard to look past Hemsworth's hammer-wielding god of thunder Thor.
But what if there was a way to get the Hollywood heartthrob from the big screen to the streets of a town in Central West NSW?
This is the mission of Cowra, with a tourism campaign titled "Get Chris to Cowra" kicking off last Tuesday.
Cowra Tourism Assistant Manager, Kurt Overzet said attracting a big name like Hemsworth would be a great way to promote the region.
"Cowra Tourism has been working on the top secret project over the last few months that we hope will get significant uptake and coverage, and will promote the town and surrounds in a fun and positive way," Mr Overzet said.
"Why Chris Hemsworth? Obviously he's a little bit famous, but more importantly he's also the Australian Tourism Ambassador and we reckon it would be a great idea for him to come and see our town and regional NSW."
To try and get Hemsworth's attention, Cowra Tourism has released a video showcasing the sites and tourist draws of Cowra, launched a website and Facebook page, and is encouraging local residents and businesses to get involved.
"The 'Get Chris to Cowra' website will also act as a hub for the campaign where you can sign an online petition to get Chris to visit Cowra, post messages to Chris, and even track sightings of him around town," Mr Overzet said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Cowra residents are being invited to help the cause.
"Apart from sharing our video, you can help us by using #GetChrisToCowra in your social media posts, and by placing signs in your shop and car windows. If you're near the Cowra Visitor Centre at any stage, drop in and have your photograph taken with our life-sized "Chris" cutout in Thor costume.
"There is likely to be media coverage over the next few weeks so get your answers ready when you're pulled up in the main street by a reporter and asked "Why would you like Chris Hemsworth to come to Cowra?"
