Originally listed with a guide of $1.25 million to $1.3 million, the four-bedroom home at 6 Lakeview Parade attracted buyers from Caves Beach, and Sydney buyers looking for a weekender, before selling to a Valentine family.
The sale price followed the suburb's first million-dollar sale in December 2019 ($1.228 million for 8 Lakeview Parade) and easily eclipsed the previous suburb high ($1.3 million for 84 Soldiers Road in May).
Altitude's Debbie Cheers said she had been "inundated" with calls regarding the home, which is in line for a renovation from its new owners.
"It's a lovely family that's purchased it and they'll reside there," Ms Cheers said.
"It's got uninterrupted water views across the road, it's built two-storey ... you've got the jetty and sandy shoreline across the road."
The 701 square metre property had been in the same Newcastle-based family for about 27 years, and had been used as a holiday home.
The record sale price may not last long, however, with two Pelican properties open for inspections on Saturday.
A bungalow and boat house at 2 Lakeview Parade is being marketed by 3Realty as "arguably the best block in Pelican" ahead of auction.
Further up the road, a modern four-bedroom home at 56 Karog Street is on the market for $1.59 million with Belle Property.
