New sale benchmarks were set in 30 of the 49 housing suburbs in the Newcastle LGA, and it could have been 31 but for a transaction-free year in Lenaghan.
September's $8.75 million sale of 44 Kilgour Avenue, Merewether made headlines by crushing the region's previous $7.25 million record, and there were others that broke previous records by $1 million plus.
Hamilton, Hamilton South, New Lambton Heights and The Junction all set huge new benchmarks, and others are believed to have been set off-market.
Of the 49 suburbs, all but seven (Beresfield, Birmingham Gardens, Hexham, Jesmond, Sandgate, Shortland and Tarro) have hit the $1 million mark heading into 2022.
