A helicopter interrupted Mr Hazzard as he was getting into his stride at Monday's COVID-19 update at Royal North Shore Hospital.
Mr Hazzard powered through two questions at the podium before the noise became so loud he decided to hit the pause button.
"Do you want to wait for this or not? We do want to wait. Well, sorry folks, we've got a helicopter taking off for someone who obviously needs to urgent help," Mr Hazzard said.
"So if you're watching somewhere else, rather than here, we might just wait for a couple of minutes until the aircraft has taken off."
Mr Hazzard, UNICEF Australia's Ann Sherry, NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet, Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant and Education Secretary Georgina Harrisson waited for more than a minute for the helicopter to take off before the Health Minister returned to the podium.
"The premier just did say through that helicopter noise that he's going to make it a fun exercise teaching his kids about how to use RATs at home. So good luck to the premier and his six-and-a-half children," Mr Hazzard joked.
Mr Hazzard was referring to Mr Perrottet's soon to be born seventh child, who he is expecting with his wife Helen later this year.
This isn't the first time transport has interrupted a conference in recent months as Prime Minister Scott Morrison's presser was hindered by a ship's blaring foghorn in Newcastle on November 8, 2021.
Mr Morrison flanked Liberal candidate for Paterson Brooke Vitnell as she made her first official campaign speech when the passing coal ship cut her off.
"I pledge to put the people of Paterson first," Ms Vitnell said, before the ship blared its horn.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Ms Vitnell paused her speech for the lengthy horn, prompting Mr Morrison and Liberal candidate for Shortland Nell McGill to burst out into laughter.
Minutes later, Mr Morrison answered a question about "what message he sold to Glasgow" at the COP26 Climate Summit.
Another foghorn then blared in the background, prompting Ms Vitnell and Ms McGill to chuckle.
