There are 29 people with COVID-19 in Hunter New England hospitals - three of those patients receiving intensive care - as the local health district recorded 1116 new cases of the virus in the 24 hours to 4pm on Monday.

The region avoided contributing to the NSW daily death toll of nine, as the state had 8874 new positive results for the period.
Of the new cases in the Hunter New England local health district, 933 came from rapid antigen tests and 183 were from PCR tests.
NSW Health reports 54.1 per cent of people have had three vaccine doses, while 79 per cent of people aged 12-15 are double-jabbed and 47.5 per cent of children aged five-11 have had one dose.
Five women and four men died with the virus on Monday.
One person was in their 60s, one was in their 70s, four were in their 80s and three were in their 90s.
