Georgie Hart, the Greens candidate for the South Australian seat of Unley, posted a video of herself next to a vandalised campaign poster to Instagram on Friday, March 11.
The poster featured her name changed to "Georgie Fart" with a monobrow, moustache, goatee and cigarette drawn on Ms Hart's face - which the politician drew on her own face for the video.
"Hi, I'm Georgie Fart and I'm here to talk about 'natural' gas. Not that type of 'natural' gas," Ms Hart said in the video followed by a fart sound effect.
"Natural gas like natural coal is a dangerous fossil fuel. If we want a future for our children here on this planet we need to be transitioning away from fossil fuels."
Ms Hart then went on to criticise the government for subsidising the fracking of the Beetaloo Sub-Basin in the Northern Territory after Federal Resources Minister Keith Pitt announced $19.4 million in grants to support gas exploration of the basin last month.

While Ms Hart's graffiti video drew a big response on social media, it appears to be part of an ongoing trend for real estate agents.
Queensland real estate agent Natalie Child donned graffiti on her face to pose next to one of her vandalised posters in a viral Facebook post from May, 2021.
Wrestler-turned-actor John Cena recently re-posted Ms Child's image to his 17.3 million Instagram followers on Thursday.
Ms Child said she was "shocked" that The Suicide Squad star shared her image.
"I thought surely that's not his real one but it's got that little blue tick there," she told Australian Community Media.
While Ms Child's post has been the most successful, she said she originally got the idea from Canadian real estate agent Alan Stilwell, who pulled off a similar gag in 2019.
One of Mr Stillwell's signs was defaced with a moustache, goatee and sunglasses, which he replicated on himself for a photo.
Ms Child said the gag has been in running in the real estate industry for some time since posters of their faces are often targeted.
