Knights coach Adam O'Brien indicated that Jones would likely miss Newcastle's clash with in-form Melbourne Storm at McDonald Jones on Sunday, having suffered a hyper-extension during the NRL club's 39-2 loss to Parramatta.
"We don't have a lot of depth there, especially around the back-row stocks," O'Brien said after Sunday's defeat at home.
"I think Brodie will miss next week. He's got a hyper-extended elbow, so we're running real low on back-rowers at the moment."
Newcastle's forward pack remains the same, however, Simi Sasagi is set to make his starting debut following back-to-back appearances off the bench.
Sasagi, who recently celebrated his 21st birthday, looks likely to line-up in the centres with Origin representative Dane Gagai (cheek) and Hymel Hunt (cheek) both ruled out after suffering injuries in separate games on the weekend.
Sauaso Sue was named on the bench for the Knights after playing NSW Cup on Sunday.
Tex Hoy, Jack Johns, Brayden Musgrove, Pasami Saulo, Dylan Lucas, Jaron Purcell and Krystian Mapapalangi round out the extended 24-man list.
The Knights have lost five straight games. They last accounted for the Storm in 2015.
