The former host of Triple M's Sydney breakfast show has died aged 71.
Mr Mulray started his radio career in regional NSW before joining the ABC's Double J station in Sydney.
He then crossed to Triple M where he steered the Sydney breakfast program for a decade from 1982.
Away from the radio studios, Mr Mulray featured on TV in Beauty and the Beast, Australia's Naughtiest Home Videos and hosted the self-titled show, Mulray.
Mr Mulray was born in Sydney, NSW, on December 1, 1951.
Friends and colleagues pay tribute
Triple M's Mick Molloy and Mark Geyer paid tribute to the radio legend during their morning show on Friday, March 31.
"It's a terrible morning, especially for everyone here at Triple M," Mr Molloy said.
"A huge, gaping hole has been left in the landscape of FM radio, particularly in Sydney where Doug Mulray ruled since 1982 and rarely does an entire city get taken by one man."

Mr Geyer said people of his age grew up hearing him on radio.
"He was the godfather, he was the man," he said.
"He was a quite shy guy away from the microphone, he was a performer no doubt but as soon as he hung up the headphones he was a recluse, he headed for the hills.
"Today is a sad day."
