According to the prognostications of these flappers at the Sea Life Aquarium, the Matildas are likely to come out on top against the famed Girls In Green.
"Sydney's adorable Gentoo penguins have spoken and it is clear they're backing our Matildas to win," said keeper Vanja Jugovic.
"We're so excited for our Gentoo penguins to play their part in helping Aussies predict whether the ... Matildas will prevail on the pitch for the opening match of the World Cup.
"We're certain our little helpers put their best webbed foot forward when backing our Matildas to win!"
Although viewing the footage of the penguins' prediction, the size of the flags do differ significantly in Australia's favour and there may have been at least a little bit of coaching.
Nevertheless, it's to be seen whether the birds can truly pick the winners come kick-off on July 20.
