The site of the fatal Lindt cafe siege in Sydney's Martin Place has become a bottle shop after consultation with the victims' families.

Dan Murphy's opened the doors to its new premium store on the heritage-listed site on July 27.
The store features tributes to Katrina Dawson and Tori Johnson who died during the 16-hour siege at the former cafe.
Dan Murphy's managing director Agi Pfeiffer-Smith said they had been in close contact with the families since looking into the site in 2021.
"We began talks with both victims' families long before making a final decision to proceed with the development of this store," she said.
"We would have not proceeded without the approval of the victims' families and have taken every step to respect those directly impacted."

The original plaques honouring Ms Dawson and Mr Johnson will adorn a wall near the entrance of the new store and a permanent floral tribute with their names will sit on a central tasting table.
Ms Dawson's brother Angus Dawson said his family had been consulted by Dan Murphy's and brand owner Endeavour Group and wished them the best for the store.
"We have also worked with Endeavour on the development of a memorial in store and we are comfortable with the final designs," he said.
Lindt closed its Martin Place cafe in 2021 after deciding not to renew its lease.
