Emergency services found the 35-year-old in a parked car suffering gunshot wounds at 12.45pm on January 6, 2022 on Rawson Road in South Wentworthville. He died at the scene.
Investigations continue into the "targeted attack" sparked by an alleged feud between organised crime networks, police said.
Homicide detectives hope CCTV footage of the alleged offenders will prompt a tip from the public.

A collection of footage from the area shows two alleged getaway cars and three men that police hope to identify.
A grey 2017 Mini Cooper parked on Una Street, a short distance from Rawson Road, on the morning of the shooting.
CCTV shows two unknown men driving the Mini Cooper back to Una Street after the alleged shooting and setting the car alight before fleeing the scene in a silver 2007 Toyota Aurion parked across the road.
The Toyota Aurion bears the number plates 'DB90FA'.
Police are also seeking public assistance finding a man in a black and white hooded jumper and a black face mask who was filmed walking nearby.
