Powerball data has revealed the lottery winning hotspots throughout the country and the luckiest regional postcodes were in Illawarra, the Mid North Coast and the Grampians in Victoria.
The jackpot increased from $150 million to $200 million after no-one picked the winning numbers - 21, 9, 27, 6, 1, 26, 4, with 10 as the Powerball - on January 25.
There have been no jackpot winners in six consecutive draws but Powerball anticipates millions of entries in the February 1 lottery.
Powerball said tickets for the previous jackpot of $150 million sold feverishly with 7,445 entries selling in a single minute at 6.15pm on January 25, an hour before lottery entries closed.
Jackpot hotspots
Some Australian regions seem to be luckier than others.
Dapto, in the Illawarra region, is the NSW postcode with the highest concentration of division one winners in 2023.
The Lott, which runs the Powerball draw, distributed $5.5 million among four winners in the region with the highest individual prize of $2.5 million.
NewsXpress Dapto and Dapto Newsagency each sold two division one winning entries, The Lott said.

"Some players tell us they deliberately pick outlets that have recently sold a major lottery prize in the hope of continuing the winning streak," The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell said
"While other players choose different outlets, believing lightning won't strike twice," she said.
Taree on the NSW Mid North Coast has celebrated three division one winning tickets sold from CTC Taree in 2023.
The total prize money won in the region was more than $4.5 million throughout the year.
The Grampians in Victoria is home to nine division one lottery winners with total prizes of almost $67 million distributed in 2023. However, $60 million of the prize money went to just one lucky winner.
"It will be interesting to see if this year's lottery hotspots continue their winning streak in 2024," Ms Hobdell said.
"While we saw pockets of major lottery prizes across Australian states and territories this year, it's important to remember that a division one win can land anywhere at any time," she said.
Powerball ticket sales close at 7.30pm AEST on February 1 and the draw takes place shortly after.
