Former constable Beau Lamarre-Condon was off-duty when he allegedly killed the couple at Mr Baird's Paddington home on February 19.
NSW Police confirmed the officer had been removed from the force on March 22.
"Under section 181D of the Police Act 1990, the Commissioner has the ability to remove officers if she has lost confidence in their suitability to continue as a police officer," a police statement said.
The bodies of Mr Davies, 29, and Mr Baird, 26, were found by police in surfboard bags covered in debris at a Bungonia property in the Southern Tablelands on February 27.
The alleged murders sparked a NSW Police review into the use of police weapons.
Lamarre-Condon has been charged with two counts of murder.
