Natalie Frahm, 34, was in the driveway of her Mackay, Queensland home when she was allegedly shot dead by 31-year-old Ryan Geoffrey Cole.
Ms Frahm's daughter was with a friend in the car's back seat when the horror unfolded on the suburban street, the victim's friend and boxing trainer Nicolaas Van Der Zee said.
Fundraiser eclipses target in four days
Mr Van Der Zee started a fundraiser to support the family of the Thai Boxing Gym's "much loved member".
"It's hard enough losing a parent at such a young age but to also witness the events that took place will need a lot of specialist care in helping to cope with what has happened," he said.
He called for community donations "to help ease this financial burden" on Ms Frahm's grieving family.
"Nat we loved you, may you [rest in peace]," Mr Van Der Zee said.
The fundraiser eclipsed its $20,000 target within four days as donations continue to roll in with contributions from more than 300 generous donors.
A handful of contributors donated $1000 each on the GoFundMe page.
Alleged shooter charged
The alleged gunman was charged with murder after he was tracked to a service station on the Bruce Highway hours after the shooting.
He was also charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting a man that intervened after the children ran for help.
Jimmy McGill, 66, suffered non-life-threatening gun shot wounds to the hand and sternum.
Police believe the alleged gunman and Ms Frahm did not know each other but lived on the same street.
His case is before the Mackay Magistrates Court.
